I am a little competitive.... ok, maybe more than a little. When I want to get things done and see results, competing with a worthy opponent adds energy and excitement. That's probably why I continue using a timer after all these years - it's the "thrill of the game" ! But I'm not an "obsessive" competitor. I am careful what I choose to compete in. The end result (whether I win or lose) must be something that truly interests me. Even when I lose, I've achieved so much more than if I hadn't competed. I win either way!
My friend from Scotland, Iain Whyte, is a worthy opponent. That's why, when we talked last week and he presented this challenge, I accepted. It's $10,000 of income we don't currently have coming in... it's new business! That gets the ideas flowing!
$10,000 in 30 days - who can get there first? If neither of us achieve the $10,000, who made the most?
To most people, this sounds incredibly unrealistic and insane.
Doug Kasper, a friend and colleague, asked me, "Why don't you make the challenge over 90 days so you stand a better chance of achieving the goal?"
My response? "Because I will think differently and work harder within a 30 day period than I will if it's stretched out over 90 days," .
Then I asked him, "If you were in this challenge and only made $7,000 instead of $10,o00, would you be mad?" He laughed and said of course not!
A few hours later he texted me and thanked me for helping him think differently - he is now thinking about ways his business could generate an additional $10,000 within 30 days due to our conversation.
I've had so much interest in how I'm going to accomplish this that I am tracking everything I do as well as the results. As I develop a system that generates results, it's going to be rolled into a new course for people to take. Each class will be 3 hours with 2 classes in the course. The first class will be the foundation; the second will focus on implementation and action, including a 30-day calendar with specific actions for each day. including delegation strategies with either your staff or outsourcing through a virtual assistant, automation, processes, etc.
This class is being co-developed and co-taught with Lisa Saline. She has so much experience and she'll show people how to do the more "techie" stuff. Between the two of us, our students will get the "talk AND tech" tips!
Is everyone going to earn an additional $10,000 the first month they take action? No, of course not. But their massive and specific actions will allow them to make more than they had been AND break through current belief barriers. Once they make an additional $10,000 over a couple of months, then in one month with predictability, many will decide to increase it to $15,000. $20,000. And even higher over time.
What would you want or need to know in order to build a solid foundation and effective plan of action to earn an additional $10,000 a month? What's the biggest piece that's holding you back? If it's holding you back, it's probably holding lots of people back and it should be something I include in this class.
Please share with me your thoughts and ideas... the more we share and apply, the more we all can create our own economy!
