In an article published on November 11, 2013, in Forbes, statistics were given showing that teens are leaving Facebook. The article stated, "Having surveyed teenagers in 30 countries, they revealed that the number of teenagers claiming to be active on Facebook (ie. doing more than just “liking” a separate page on the web) had dropped to 56% in the third quarter of 2013, from 76% in the first."
Why should this matter to you? Because these are your future customers and clients! Where they go, others will follow. It only makes sense that we go there, too.
So where are the teens heading? "Not surprisingly, it’s mobile chat services like WeChat, and photo-sharing apps like Instagram and Snapchat."
The article lays it out much better than I ever could so please go to http://www.forbes.com/sites/parmyolson/2013/11/12/heres-where-teens-are-going-instead-of-facebook/ and read the article. Then check out WeChat, Instagram, and Snapchat. Consider ways you can use these tools to attract the prospects who are either using them right now or will be following the crowd.
Technology requires us to be adaptable and responsive to the changing culture that social media provides. Our future business depends on it.
