The meatloaf recipe is fast and easy. There are 2 parts: the meat mixture and the sauce. I mix the sauce first because a couple of tablespoons of sauce get added to the meat mixture. Combine all ingredients in the meat mixture, place in 4 loaf-size shapes on a glass plate, cover with waxed paper, and cook for 8 minutes in the microwave. Remove the waxed paper, top with remaining sauce and cook in the microwave for 1 more minute. Ta-Da! Meatloaf is done!
Last week I made meatloaf... again. It occurred to me that I hadn't looked at the recipe for years. I dug out the recipe and was surprised to see that over the years, I had "modified" it. I didn't mean to - I thought I knew it so well that I didn't need to pay attention anymore.
Turns out I was leaving an ingredient out of the sauce - 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. I wouldn't have thought that 1 teaspoon of garlic would make much of a difference in flavor - but it did. Even my husband noticed and asked what I did differently.
This got me to thinking about my own business... What habits that I'd established have dulled over time? Have I become complacent in my efforts and expectations? What "ingredient" needs to be added that will make a difference in my lead generation strategy?
Think about your own business... what's one little thing - seemingly insignificant - that could make YOUR sauce special again?
