- Get a good education
- Find a good job
- Work for a company or corporation
- Turn their ideas and thoughts into profits for them
- Retire and die
Sound about right? I don't know about you, but I have an issue with this model. I've met many good people - people with great work ethics, determination, smart, and well educated - who have been let go through no fault of their own. They are loyal to the company the work for but there is no loyalty from the company to employee.
People with skills work for people with ideas. You probably have a few ideas of your own... thoughts and dreams of having your own business and calling the shots. But with a full time position, how in the world do you carve out any more time to start or grow a business that will someday replace or exceed your current income?
Outsourcing! Don't be trapped in the mindset that you have to do it all... it you do, your business will never grow to the level it needs to if you want it to replace your salary. Put on your "leader" hat and look at things differently.
- What processes can you create for tasks that are repeated often?
- What systems can eliminate redundancy?
- What needs to get done but you either don't have the skills, or time to do it?
These are great tasks to delegate! For me, the key to turning the money I spend delegating certain tasks into an income stream or profit center is to spend the time I just freed up to find new ideal prospects and clients. If I have 5 hours a week to work on my business and I delegate some of the tasks, I am able to spend my time on money-making activities rather than paperwork.
I've had a virtual assistant for over a year. I am certain that because of her help and support, I was able to meet my goals for December 2014 by June. Samantha has the skills to do some of the work. I get to be the person with the ideas. And, I get to be the person who keeps the profits. Together, we make a very powerful team.
Samantha (my VA) has put together a list of questions you should ask when interviewing a virtual assistant candidate. Click here for your free copy of "12 Questions To Ask When Interviewing VA Or Outsourcing Candidates".
If you desire to build a different, and better, life for yourself and your family, please consider how having your own business can make these dreams come true. There's never going to be a "perfect" time. The sooner you roll up your sleeves and get started, the sooner you'll see results.
It's time to move from being the person who works for the person with the ideas to being the person with the ideas! Are you with me?
