At that point, there's probably nothing you can do to salvage the situation. Chalk it up to experience. However, you can plan better in the future and avoid this ever happening again.

Here are 3 tips to help you be a BIG HIT instead of a BOMB:
- Know your audience. All speaking gigs and audiences are not created equal. Choose to accept offers to speak at those which your ideal prospects and target markets attends. These are people who will find your topic, and solutions, relevant.
- Don't tell them everything you know and think you are giving them value. All you are doing is giving them anxiety! Focus on 3-4 main points and share a story about each one. Your stories should include the results the person experienced and how it impacted the person's life. Leave the audience wanting more.
- Limit where you get your information on speaking. One of the biggest blessings and biggest curses (in my humble opinion) is the internet. We can find tons of information on any topic. It's common that we pull ideas from 4, 5, or more sources and combine them into our talk or presentation. Then we're disappointed when we don't achieve the results mentioned in the information. Think for a minute about a fancy meal you want to make. Would you pull 4, 5, or more recipes, combine ingredients into something different, and expect it to look like the photo? Of course not! It's the same thing with getting advice. Find one person you resonate with and follow that person's system. Once you've got it down and you are experiencing consistent results, then you can tweak it!
