Today's successful marketers understand that it's all about building personal relationships. You need to be yourself and make a real connection with your audience. This is the difference between those who have a loyal tribe-like fan base and those that have to start from scratch for each new marketing campaign.
There are 3 important steps to building a loyal fan base:
- Know your audience - what keeps them awake at night, what solutions have they already tried that didn't work, where are they looking for information, and what do they want the end result to be?
- Share, don't sell. Once you get a feel for your ideal clients, customers, or patients, what are they saying? Then use their comments and turn them into questions. They'll think you are a mind reader! Here's an example: They think, "Social media is a time trap!" In your marketing you would ask, "Is the time you spend on social media a time trap? Here are 5 easy ways to control your time AND turn it into profits!"
- Tell stories that engage. Remember, facts tell but stories sell. Stories can be testimonials from others or wrapping your message into a story about your life. We are organic dairy farmers in SE Minnesota. Often I share farm stories in my trainings and keynotes. Very rarely has anyone in the audience been a farmer, much less an organic dairy farmer. Yet I get rave reviews about the farm parables and how they can apply the message or teaching into their own business or life!
People like to buy from people they like, know, and trust. And I get the most fulfillment when I get to help those who like, know, and trust me!
One problem. One solution. 15/$25. Done.
