First, let me tell you that I never spoke to-or met-Steve Jobs. But how he lived his life has personally impacted me, just like probably every other person on the planet.
So this is my tribute to Steve Jobs - What He Taught Me
1. Be a visionary! In the words of my friend, Tony Wolfe, "Go Do"! Let everyone else scratch their heads over your ideas. Can we even imagine life without the iphone or ipad? Don't downsize your thinking because others live in little boxes!
2. Get so excited about your ideas, how to make them happen, and the possibilities they offer to others that you view every obstacle encountered as small pebbles on the pathway to success. In the words of Lisa Nichols, "Setbacks become set-ups; breakdowns become breakthroughs." Someone is praying for the solution you provide. Do it for them and you!
3. He changed the world and how we communicate. The technology he envisioned, and his team developed, gave us the opportunity to expand the internet and truly engage and interact with each other. If your house was on fire, isn't your phone one of the first items you'd grab? (besides family members and pets, of course) It's more than being connected, it's truly connecting and sharing!
Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur who had a dream and vision. His impact will be felt forever. What I learned from Steve Jobs that I will implement in my life is to keep pursuing my dream, vision, and passion so I, too, can make the world a little bit better.
Thank you, Steve, for the example you set. I, for one, am going to follow in your footsteps and be true to who I am, the gifts I have, and the opportunity to make a difference. Watch out world! 🙂
