TED seems to be the ultimate example of speakers who have reached excellence. As a speaker, I know I've watched countless TED talks. I've listened to their stories, studied their gestures, noted voice inflections, and tried to copy how they engaged the audience.
But being a successful and profitable speaker is more than getting on the stage and talking. Successful speakers realize that speaking is just one part of their business model or sales funnel. They effectively use their exposure to groups to fill their funnel and convert prospects into buyers.
TED-worthy speakers have mastered the craft of speaking AND the craft of developing a speaking business. Both are essential.
